Exclusive interview with Afi Antonio |
It's been roughly a year now, Ace Ghanaian photo model Philomena
Afi Esinam Antonio has been professionally modelling here in Ghana. Afi as she is fondly called by her
friends and family says for her, modelling is more like a hobby and it is something she loves
doing even though deep down in her heart she knows it is a career. ‘For me, I
love modelling and I
see it more as a hobby rather than a job. I realised I didn't have the height to be a runway model so I opted
to be a photo model if not a runway model. Each photo shoot has a variety of
excitements which makes each day a new experience.'' she said during an
interview on the MSE Celebrity Profile. Afi hails from Anloga in the Volta region;
she went to 48 engineers J.H.S at Teshie camp and proceeded to Nungua Senior
High School to study Visual arts. She later entered Takoradi Polytechnic to
study fashion design. The 30 year old photo model now works with Rackus
production, organisers
of the Bass awards. She is being managed by Bull Dog, CEO of Bullhaus
entertainment. Aside that Afi is the producer of an upcoming television show,
Celebrity Delivery TV show which is currently being recorded. The concept of
the show is to use celebrities to deliver messages or gifts on behalf of their
fans. For Afi, the competition is intense and believes that a competitive
industry will not only demand from a model but will also allow you to challenge
yourself. Afi is one Ghanaian model looking forward for more opportunities and
encourages young people out there who want to take modeling as a career to work
hard and she quotes "more grease to your elbow."
